COLUMBIA, Mo. (August 24, 2026) - The Boone County Office of Emergency Management is partnering with the American Red Cross and other agencies to offer a free Faithful Readiness Workshop on October 7, 2026. This workshop is intended for participants and representatives from faith-based communities to learn about trends in threats and hazards faced by houses of worship as well as how they can help respond in the event their faith community is impacted by disasters. Lunch is included with registration.
Topics include:
- Emergency Operations Plans for houses of worship
- Active shooter preparedness and security
- Connecting with other faith-based partners
- Faith-Based disaster response and community recovery
The workshop will be at the Boone Electric Cooperative, 1413 Range Line St, Columbia, MO, on October 7, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
